System Overview

The accumulator is the high-voltage, custom-built lithium-ion battery pack that stores energy and provides power for the vehicle, acting as the main energy source. The accumulator can function as a independent unit including essential safety and management hardware like the Battery Management System (BMS) and power distribution. The accumulator is composed of multiple individual segments

The accumulator always has high voltage present, even when in the off state. The only time where it is complement safe is when all the segments are removed from the accumulator and each segment's bus bars are removed to put it into a low voltage state.

The main challenge with the accumulator is designing a system that is safe, rules compliant and high performance. As the accumulator contains high voltage up to 600v, there are safety considerations.
